Comparing Company Time Clocks
Written by: Allied Time
To find the best time clock for your company, you’re going to have to choose between a variety of different time clocks to use.
As a business owner, to be able to keep track of your employees’ hours, you’re going to need a time clock that’s going to sufficiently track each individual’s hours accurately and efficiently. Here are an example of some time clocks and the advantages that they will bring to your workplace.
Paper-Based Clocks
Paper-based time clocks are one of the oldest timekeeping systems available on the market today. This tamper-proof clock tracks each employee’s hours through a paper time card. One of the reasons why these time clocks are preferred over others is that they are sturdy enough to last over the years, even in the harshest of elements. Smaller businesses that do not require the features of a biometric time clock prefer using these standalone systems to save money and still efficiently calculate each employee’s work hours.
Networked Time Clocks
Networked time clocks utilize network connections to keep track of time and attendance. With these types of clocks, employees will receive a unique PIN number instead of a paper time clock to punch in. One of the goals of these time clocks is to inhibit the “buddy punching” system where one employee clocks in for another and gives that employee undeserved pay.
Biometric Time Clocks
Biometric time clocks incorporate advanced technology that requires more than a PIN to access their time card. Biometric features such as facial or fingerprint scans are embedded within the employee time clock to verify each employee’s unique identity. This type of time clock serves as one of the best ways to achieve a high return on investment (ROI).
